Dekpol has completed an assembly yard for Remontowa Shipbuilding

A new processing line has been constructed in Gdańsk shipyard. The new facility is designed to assemble and transfer vessels, and enables launching ships as long as 130 metres. Dekpol was the general contractor for the reinforced concrete slab substructure, equipped with the full processing infrastructure. The contract value amounted to PLN 5.4 million.

Dekpol has completed a large PLN 5.4 million project ordered by Remontowa Shipbuilding of Gdańsk, a member of the Remontowa Holding corporate group. Dekpol was contracted for and completed the construction of a vessel assembly and transfer yard sized 29 by 134 metres. The project has delivered a new processing line for the assembly and transfer of marine vessels and launching of ships up to 130 m in length.

„The investment project has been completed in full compliance with the arrangements. With our long-standing expertise, we can build even the most complex projects for various industries, including shipbuilding” – says Mariusz Tuchlin, President of Dekpol S.A.

The assembly yard is based on a reinforced concrete slab substructure, complete with all necessary infrastructure, including the following utilities: process steam, compressed air, oxygen, acetylene and CO2 supply, electrical supply switchgears, a chain of welding stations, a water supply network with standpipes and the supply of process water, a storm drainage system, and assembly area lighting. The structure is designed to transfer the vessels built by the shipyard between the production area and the launch site. Dekpol has reinforced the soil under the gantry pathway by burying a total of 834 pillars, each 7.5 m long.
