From October 24-30, 2022, the prestigious BAUMA World Fair in Munich took place, bringing together leading manufacturers and specialists in the construction, mining and construction equipment and machinery industry. This event, held every two years, enjoys great prestige on an international scale. As Dekpol Steel, we had the extraordinary pleasure of participating in this fair for the second time. The week-long exhibition period, lasting 10 hours each day, is the result of intensive preparations that lasted all year. Our team of seven devoted a lot of time and effort to ensure the highest quality presentation of our products and services. We took care of every detail to make sure everything was buttoned up to the last button. The BAUMA fair is not only an opportunity to present the latest technologies and innovative solutions, but also a great opportunity to establish business contacts and build relationships with customers from all over the world.

Dekpol Steel’s exposition

Dekpol Steel’s exposition at the fair occupied an impressive 110 m2. Our team worked on the construction of the exhibition stand for 5 days, but when the final day of the start of the fair arrived, our fatigue was dampened by the great excitement and thrill of being able to participate in such a unique event.
For us, our presence at this fair was the culmination of 10 years of Dekpol Steel’s operations. During this time, our company has become a recognized tycoon on the European market, earning the respect of customers working on construction sites and in rock mines from all over the world.
Our participation in BAUMA was the fruit of many years of hard work and commitment of the entire team. We carefully prepared our products to present themselves in the best light and meet the expectations of our customers. Dekpol Steel’s stand attracted the attention of visitors not only with its modern design, but also with the innovative solutions and technologies we offer.

Participation in the fair – new opportunities

Market hits – what did we exhibit at the fair?

During the fair, we presented a wide range of innovative and high-quality accessories that meet the needs and requirements of the industry. A variety of solutions were exhibited at our booth, including:
– Rock buckets with capacities of 5.3 and 2.2 m3. The 2.2 m3 bucket features increased impact force and is ideal for use in granite mines. Equipped with a delta blade, they are able to cope with extreme working conditions.
– A 2.5 m3 universal bucket with a hydraulic head. This versatile bucket makes it possible to carry out varied work thanks to its mounted hydraulic head. It is effective in various construction and excavation jobs.
– Ripper on S60 joint with J460 tine is designed for demolition and excavation work. Thanks to its well-thought-out design, the use of a stronger tooth application and solid workmanship, it guarantees exceptional performance and durability.
– Premiere of Dekpol Steel’s patented Tiltdek® hydraulic quick couplers. We presented our innovative solution – the Tiltdek® tilting quick coupler, which has been patented by our company. The quick couplings are equipped with a hydraulic motor with a 180° pivot and are designed for use on the arm of excavators weighing from 1 to 3.5 tons. They are compatible with any bucket or other work attachments of your choice, providing considerable flexibility and efficiency in a wide variety of applications.

Dekpol Steel’s environmental activities

Dekpol Steel is actively involved in pro-environmental activities, striving to minimize the negative impact on the environment. We are aware that environmental protection is extremely important for future generations, so we take specific actions in this area.
One of our activities is to create lighter, yet more durable accessories. Our products are characterized by high durability, which allows them to be used for longer periods of time without frequent replacement. As a result, we reduce the amount of material used and the amount of waste, which translates into reduced environmental impact.
In the process of manufacturing accessories, we place great emphasis on minimizing environmental nuisance. We strive to use technologies that reduce the emission of harmful substances. The use of polyurea paints allows us to reduce the emission of volatile organic compounds into the atmosphere, which contributes to improving air quality.
We are also planning to build a photovoltaic farm to use renewable energy. Using solar energy will allow us to reduce our dependence on conventional energy sources and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We are striving for sustainable development and contributing to environmental protection.

Summary

The entire Dekpol Steel team, extremely appreciates the opportunity to participate in BAUMA 2022 in Munich. The Quality of the Components

It’s good to bring up here the first application of hydraulic rotary actuators by our engineers. It was first used in the project of swiveling grading buckets. Instead of the standard cylinder-piston actuator, we used a different rule for using the actuator with a more acute angle and a different torque that enhanced the functionality of the bucket.

It’s an important component of the bucket to use a rotary system in the project. The knowledge about the mineral used in making the bucket plays a huge role. In 2013, for the first time, we used a rotary system from Spanish producer MTG. The innovative system worked well, and the client was delighted with the durability and effectiveness of the bucket and the machine.

Building Dekpol Steel offices, preparing the ground for the warehouse for the finished product

In 2013 we made a decision to build a new office building for Dekpol Steel purposes. The departments of sales coordination, finance, and purchasing were set there with 2 conference halls available. The building was put right next to the production hall, and to this day is being used well, although – it seems a bit too crowded now. We have also bought a new ground for the planned warehouse for finished products. The then-created infrastructure was not sufficient for the production plans and sales in the following years.

We also participated in Construction Machines Trade Show “Maszbud” 2013.

The challenges of 2013

In the summer of 2013, we realized an unusual contract for the final client in Morocco in North Africa. There were two quarry buckets in the contract and HD for CAT374D, CAT336DL, and CAT390 with delta blade and K110 and K150 gears. What was unusual about that? The short amount of time we had to realize this investment. The offer was accepted, the materials were bought and we waited for the “green light” which meant a prepayment from the final client. When we got the payment to produce eight 4,6 m3 buckets, four 2,4 m3, and eight 6,0 m3 buckets, we only had 14 days to do it! Yellow buckets in great conditions left in time but we scraped the sweat from our foreheads for another week.

Celebration continues! This time, for the 10th anniversary of our company, we go back to 2013, to see what we thought and how we looked like then!

It was a time of intensive work, where our priority was quality of production and management. It was certified by ISO 9001:2008, EN ISO 3834-2, EN 1090-1, EN1090-2. As the first producer of machinery, we have received steel’s producer – SSAB – certificate: Hardox in My Body.

This year, we have also prepared for the first audit to become a certified supplier for OEM. 2013 was also a time of gaining new clients on the domestic and international markets.

We have produced 3000 buckets, mostly for Volvo, Komatsu, JCB, and Caterpillar dealers and for export to Germany, Sweden, Norway, France, Great Britain, Belgium, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, and Australia.

Scandinavian markets expansion!

In 2013, we have also initiated a long-term partnership with our first Norwegian client to whom we have exported quarry buckets and HD. It was the first time when we applied an original tine system HARDOX KVX.

We have also worked with our neighboring Partner to create, step by step, a new brand of hardware. Soon, this brand will compete with the leading brands on the market and will become a strong competition for them, based on Dekpol Steel projects and being tested at many Swedish testing grounds.

HARDOX® in My Body

Quality, precision, functionality – those goals can be realized by using a unique Hardox steel. With high wear resistance, it added a lot to our products. Additionally, it cut spending in the long run, when it comes to exploitation. 

The idea to use this steel in Dekpol Steel’s products was made during the first days of creating buckets. The original steel from Swedish producer SSAB – HARDOX® – is in a class by itself.

The first step made to use this steel was the participation in “Wear Plates” program. In 2013, Dekpol Steel received “Hardox in my Body” certificate from SSAB. This certificate still belongs to Dekpol Steel as the sole producer of hardware for machinery in Poland 

As a part of executed strategy, Dekpol S.A. performed a spin-off of a department of production of accessories to construction machines to the SPV called Dekpol Steel Sp. z o.o.. Our goal is focused on further dynamic development of this business area e.g. through increase of recognisability of the brand, extension of a commercial offer, territorial expansion as well as strengthening of our position on currently served markets.

Transfer of a department of production of accessories to construction machines to the separate entity constitutes confirmation of the strategy of Management Board of Dekpol S.A.. The spin-off of this business area is connected with dynamic increase of a scale of business activities of particular segments, as well as achieving of financial and operational autonomy. It also shall ensure further dynamic development of the company at simultaneous increase of financial and organizational transparency within Capital Group. Implementation of this strategy has been initialized at the beginning of 2019, when, as first will be spinned-off a real-estate development department.

In newly established company Dekpol Steel Sp. z o.o., the function of the President of Management Board (CEO) will be fulfilled by Mr. Andrzej Kuchtyk, until now responsible for the development of this segment within Dekpol S.A.. The Company has very challenging goals focused on rapid increase of operational activity. Our main goal is focused on further dynamic sales development.  It is why we will be focused on increase of recognisability of the Dekpol Steel brand. We also expand our sales structures on polish and foreign markets. Besides, we aim to launch our offer on African market – added Andrzej Kuchtyk, CEO of Dekpol Steel Sp. z o.o.

We also plan to extend our commercial offer –  we want to place on the market new products for demolitions, recycling and handling. Our offer will also be extended on connectors to excavators and loaders. In 2020 we will start production of shovel buckets for excavators of the unladen mass of above 300 tones. – added Andrzej Kuchtyk.

As a part of production of accessories to construction machines, Dekpol reached domestic leadership position. Currently Dekpol produces about 750 tones of final products monthly. 95% of production is exported to more than 20 countries all over the world.

Dekpol Stal promoted its high discharge bucket of the volume of 13 cbm at the Agro Show Bednary 2019. The event organised near Poznan is the biggest open-air agricultural fair in Europe. The most significant agricultural brands from Poland and abroad have their expositions at the fair.

Dekpol Stal presented at the event its high discharge bucket of the volume of 13 cbm. Every year nearly 140.000 visitors attend the exhibition.

Dekpol Stal’s products are used by the biggest machine manufacturers. Products delivered by the company are made of Hardox steel of the highest quality and they can be used in the most difficult conditions and in the most demanding projects. Dekpol Stal’s products are well-known not only in Europe. They are sold to ca. 24 countries all over the world.

Dekpol Stal participated in the third edition of the biggest aggregate industry event in Poland – “Na poziomie 308”. The event organised by Volvo gathered professionals from extraction, processing and transportation of aggregation industries and the representants of construction industry. The meeting took place on 19^th September in Pilawa Górna Mine.

Dekpol equips Volvo machines, among others, with excavator rippers, skeleton buckets, slope excavator buckets, loading buckets and backhoe buckets. Therefore, during “Na Poziomie 308” event Dekpol presented modern equipment and buckets for construction machines made of Hardox steel.

The meeting was organised by Volvo Maszyny Budowlane Polska, Volvo Trucks, Polskie Górnictwo Skalne and Powerstone. Similarly, as every year, the event was attended by the professionals from extraction, processing and transportation of aggregation industries and representants of construction industry.

Dekpol Stal is a leader in manufacturing of equipment for construction machines on the domestic market.  The company cooperates with the leading producers all over the world. The offer dedicated for Volvo is very broad. Dekpol Stal produces, among others, excavator rippers, skeleton buckets and hydraulic slope excavator buckets, loading buckets and backhoe rock buckets.  SSAB “Hardox in My Body” certificate confirms the high quality of Dekpol’s products and ensures, that they are dedicated for the most demanding projects.

Dekpol Stal took part in 7^th edition of Szkoła Górnictwa Odkrywkowego (School of Surface Mining). During the conference, which took part between 9^th and 11^th September in Kielce, the company presented its offer of buckets for construction machines. Above all, the backhoe rock bucket dedicated specially to surface mining was presented at the conference. The product is made in XHD standard of Hardox steel and has volume of 3500 litres. It weighs 4000 kg.

The meeting was organised by Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza im. Stanisława Staszica (AGH University of Science and Technology) in Krakow, the Faculty of Mining and Geoengineering, the Department of Mining Engineering and Work Safety, “Nauka i Tradycje Górnicze” Foundation, the Section of Mining Technology of the Mining Committee at the Polish Academy of Sciences for Surface Mining, the Main Committee for Surface Mining ZG SITG and the Association go Shotfirers.

Under SGO2019 there took place the presentation of Caterpillar machines in “Radkowice” Dolomite Mine (Lafarge Kruszywa i Beton Sp. z o.o.).

During SGO 2019 the main emphasis was put on discussion over the issues concerning, among others, safe extraction of ores and minimalization of natural dangers or management of mining plant operations.
